NSF Trophy: 4 teams book spots for next round
KOHIMA — Thirty-two goals, including penalties, on Monday marked the biggest single-day haul so far in this year’s NSF Trophy at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
Those 32 goals came in four games played on Monday. Four teams to move on to the next round were Circle FC Chedema, Stallions FC, Michazou FC, and Jakhama YO.
Circle FC Chedema thrashed Eagles FC 14-0 in the first match. VS Thatkadhar Zimik scored five goals, Kekhrie Tsira had three, while Joseph and Henry scored braces each. Vijay Kumar and Tongminsei also scored a goal each.
In the next match, Tribal Stallions FC defeated BKK Jakhama 4-1. Kekrusezo collected two goals while Myjoy and Naseeb scored one each. The lone goal for BKK Jakhama was netted by Vitsoto Natso.
The match between Michazou FC and Nousi Rüzhü Colleges went to a tie-breaker after it ended in a 1-1 draw. Kedovituo Miasalhou scored for Nousi Rüzhü Colleges and Kelechülie Tepa for Michazou FC. Michazou emerged 4-3 winner in the shootout.
In the final game of the day, Jakhama YO defeated Elevated FC 4-0. Kulse Zhotso a brace while Keduhoto Zao and Vikuto Tase scored one each.
Man of the match awards went to Henry (Circle FC Chedema), Myjoy of Tribal Stallions FC, Menuokho Ngukha (goalkeeper) of Michazou FC, and Alemse of Jakhama YO.
The NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy is organised by the Angami Students’ Union.
