The minister further commended the festival organisers and pointed out that Yimchalu’s hospitality and the ability to create memorable experiences for visitors would attract more tourists, helping to establish Yimchalu as a key destination in the future.

“Take memories through your lens and tell the stories of our people, because every picture tells a lifetime’s story,” the minister exhorted the photographers and festival attendees.

Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutsa underscored the significance of photography and videography, calling them professions that preserve moments of joy, sorrow, and history.

He acknowledged the role photography plays in revealing global challenges like climate change and pollution, noting that images often expose truths that cannot be denied. “Photography requires patience and dedication,” Rhutsa said, underscoring the importance of timing in capturing perfect moments.

The cultural segment of the festival featured a rich array of performances, including traditional dances and folk songs by various groups such as the Sungratsu Students’ Union, Rejusanger Cultural Troupe, Longpa Lanu Zunga, Sungratsu Senos Telongjen Yisemyong, Konyak Union Mokokchung, Soul House Academy, and the Young Naga Club of Ungma.

The evening concluded with a musical extravaganza featuring power-packed performances by artistes like The Muse, Tuden Lkr, Sangti Ozukum, Ajung Sanglir, Arenchenla, Lenen Jamr, and Sarlonki Beh, adding grandeur to the celebration.
