NLA Speaker underlines role of youth in shaping the nation

DIMAPUR — Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer, has highlighted the vital role of youth in shaping the future of the nation and their empowerment for sustainable progress.

Longkumer stated this during the valedictory function of the Indian Youth Parliament held in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on September 17 on the theme “Empowering the next generation.”

He emphasised the need for them to stay grounded, cultivate a strong sense of righteousness and demonstrate obedience in their personal and professional lives, stated a DIPR report.

He encouraged the students to hold steadfast to moral values, foster integrity and be willing to make self-sacrifices for the greater good. He further stated that those qualities are essential for shaping not only their own future but also the future of the nation.
