Longleng, Chümoukedima DPDB meetings held
DIMAPUR — The Longleng District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for September was held under the chairmanship of W Manpai Phom, vice chairman of DPDB and deputy commissioner of Longleng, at the DPDB hall in Longleng on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the board discussed the renovation of CHC Tamlu, and CMO Longleng was asked to look into the matter. The members also reviewed proposals for grant-in-aid for Vision Vale School, Longleng, and Lamling Vesta School, Yongam, according to a DIPR report.
The registration of Mankhum Society, Tamlu, and Hope Society, Yaongyimchen, was also deliberated. The DC entrusted the concerned administrative officers with verifying the societies for recommendation.

A proposal from the Phom People Council (PPC) for the upgradation of EAC Yongnyah to SDO (civil) and the creation of Namching EAC HQ was also discussed during the DPDB meeting. The DC instructed the area administrative officers to collect the old documents, which will be reviewed in the next DPDB meeting.
The District Disaster Management Authority, Longleng, proposed the need for SDRF personnel in Longleng. Regarding road maintenance from Yongnyah to Dikhu, the house entrusted PWD with verifying the site and submitting a report at the next DPDB meeting. Additionally, the creation of a new RD block under Yongnyah HQ was discussed.
DC Longleng informed the house that the board has prepared a questionnaire for all departments in the district and requested the concerned heads of offices to complete and submit the collected data before September 30. He also asked all heads of offices to remain in station and attend meetings.
The Medical department presented their activities through a PowerPoint presentation at the meeting. The Department of Water Resources has been tasked with presenting their activities at the next meeting.
Chümoukedima DPDB: At the Chümoukedima DPDB meeting, held under the chairmanship of Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, at the DPDB conference hall in Chümoukedima, Rio appealed to all members to highlight their activities, targets, and success stories during meetings.
Agendas deliberated during the meeting included the opening of schools and the board members discussed and recommended the approval of the following schools: St. Mary School, Singrijan; A Apostolic Mission Residential School, Chümoukedima; and New Ebenezer School, Naga United Village.
The agenda for Government Primary School at Melongmem village was deferred to the next meeting.
The society registrations for Shiheli Old Age Home at Ganesh Nagar Village; Frolic Club, Medziphema; Two Wheeler Taxi Association; and North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR), 7 Mile Chümoukedima, were discussed at the meeting.
After deliberation, Frolic Club, Medziphema, was approved, while the rest will be taken up at the next meeting following proper verification.
Other agenda items deliberated included the proposal for the creation of a DEO post; the proposal for downgrading Government Middle School Piphema Bazar to a government primary school; the upgradation of Government High School Sovima to a government higher secondary school; the setting up of a committee for Unity Gate; and the scheme for PM Shri.
The recognition of Lhokheto village under Dhansiripar sub-division, Chümoukedima, has been deferred to the next meeting.
