ICAR-KVK Longleng conducts training on sustainable pulse production
DIMAPUR — A one-day training programme on “Sustainable practices of pulse to manage resource depletion” was organised by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Longleng at its premises on Monday under the ICAR-ATARI Zone-VII, Umiam, Meghalaya.
This training was part of a 100-day action plan aimed at promoting sustainable agricultural practices among local farmers, according to a press release.
The training was coordinated by subject matter specialist (SMS) in plant pathology, Shubhendu Kumar Behera, who delivered a presentation on sustainable pulse production techniques.
The session focused on effective resource management practices crucial for combating resource depletion and ensuring long-term productivity in pulse cultivation.

The programme was held under the guidance of Dr. Hari Charan Kalita, head-cum-senior scientist, ICAR-KVK Longleng.
Dr. Lily Ngullie, ACTO in Animal Science; Dr. Pallabi Phukan, SMS in Social Science; Dr. Kalu Ram, SMS in Fruit Science; Kumari Pallavi, SMS in Home Science; and Yuimi Raising, programme assistant (T-6), also contributed to the training.
A total of 30 local farmers participated in the discussions and practical sessions.
