Commercial building inaugurated in Mokokchung
MOKOKCHUNG — In a significant development aimed at generating a permanent source of income, a six storey commercial building ‘Aotemulung Kilem,’ a joint venture of the Mopungchuket Senso Telongjem Mokokchung and Aotemulungtsur Telongjem Mokokchung was inaugurated on Friday.
The building, located in the heart of Mokokchung town in Alongmen ward, was inaugurated by Rev. Jongpong Jamir, pastor of Mopungchuket Baptist Arogo, while the building was dedicated by Rev. Temsuwati Kichu, associate pastor of Mokokchung Town Baptist Arogo.
According to Watisutsung, secretary of the Aotemulung Kilem Building Committee, the construction of the building began on March 22, 2022, and was completed in July 2024. The total cost of the project was INR 2,13,69,215, which was financed through self-generated funds.
He informed that the top floor of the building is equipped with a conference hall, kitchen and reception room, designed to serve both the union’s needs and to be rented out for various functions.
Short speeches were delivered by the chairman of Alongmen ward, chairman of Mopungchuket village council and president of Aotemulungtsur Telongjem Mokokchung Town.
