DIMAPUR — The District Health Society, Longleng, conducted awareness sessions for the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (Drug-Free India Campaign) on August 19 at Yongphang and Tamlu villages, on August 21 at Buranamsang and Yongnyah villages, and on August 25 at Hukphang village.

During the events, clients were sensitised about mental health, its risk factors for mental and emotional problems, and physical health as it relates to mental and emotional well-being, according to a press release.

They were counselled about the harmful effects of drug use and abuse and educated on the dangers of drug abuse, including physical health risks, developmental risks, and social and economic consequences.

With a total of 102 OST clients and 149 adolescents, the district medical team for the campaign was led by Dr. Temsusashi, DTO-NTEP; Dr. Banglau Phom, MO; Dr. Moingan Phom, MO; Viroli Sangtam, DPM; Abemo, clinical psychologist; and Angshom Chemdok, DMO.
