Today, on this significant day, we commemorate Haipou Jadonang Martyr’s Day. It is a day to honour the ultimate sacrifice of our great leader, Haipou Jadonang, who fought against British tyranny and laid down his life for the freedom and dignity of our people.
Jadonang was more than a revolutionary—he was a leader with a vision of unity, strength, and prosperity for our people. At a time when we face challenges of division, it is his legacy that must guide us forward.
Haipou Jadonnang’s leadership was never about personal gain or factionalism. He stood for the collective good of his people, leading with courage, wisdom, and unity. Today, many of us find ourselves divided by differences, fractured into factions that weaken us. But the spirit of Jadonang reminds us that only through unity can we rise and achieve greatness as a tribe. Let us put aside our divisions, mend our broken leadership, and work together for the upliftment of our people.
It is also crucial that we pay attention to the growth and development of both boys and girls. Let us ensure that every young Rongmei—regardless of gender—has access to quality education, economic opportunities, and a nurturing environment where they can thrive and contribute to our community. We must lead by example, fostering a spirit of cooperation and dedication to the betterment of every Rongmei individual, especially the youth, who are the future of our tribe.
Leadership is a responsibility, not a privilege. As leaders, our duty is to uplift our tribe in every aspect of life—education, economy, culture, and social unity. By working together, we can overcome the challenges we face today and secure a brighter tomorrow for our tribe.
Haipou Jadonang believed in the power of unity and the strength of a people united in purpose. Today, let us renew our commitment to his ideals, come together as one, and lead with the vision and courage that he embodied. For only then can we truly honor his legacy and lift our Rongmei tribe to new heights.
