DIMAPUR — The State Bank of India (SBI) has inaugurated its branch office in Jakhama town on Tuesday.
A DIPR report stated that the chief general manager of SBI, Guwahati circle, Sahadevan Radhakrishnan, unveiled the plaque in the presence of Southern Angami Public Union (SAPO), president, Tepul Hopovi.
In his address, Radhakrishnan stated that Jakhama branch would be a full-fledged branch, which meant that the branch would provide all kind of deposit services, investment services, insurance, remittance and financial recruitment services and agriculture loans and students’ loans besides not only saving bank accounts.
He further mentioned that the branch would continue to provide all the services to the public to enable the society and the branch office grow.
In his short speech, Tepul lauded the SBI officials for opening the branch office in Jakhama stating that it has been the long-felt desire of the public. He called upon the people of the area to lend their support to the bank and make the best use of the facilities provided by the bank.
He added that the bank would not just be for the Jakhama town but also cater to the need of the neighbouring villages as well.
The youth president of Jakhama, Vishuthazo Kirha, also spoke on the occasion.
The senior pastor of Jakhama Baptist Church, Rev. Zapovil Sophie, said the invocation prayer, while the DGM (B&O) of Jorhat Module, Sarabhi Bhattacharya, delivered welcome address and the vote of thanks was said by the regional manager of RBO Dimapur, Huber AS Wungshim.
The programme was attended by bank officials, SDO (C) of Jakhama, town committee members along with the village council chairmen from Southern Angami, public leaders and well-wishers.
