KOHIMA — The Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO), in collaboration with the VisionSpring Foundation from Assam, has launched a two-month-long free eye check-up camp for Phek district.

The camps will be held in various sub-divisional towns, with the inaugural event taking place at the CPO building in Phek Town on Monday.

During the programme, Vezuhu Keyho, president of CPO, informed that the camp, themed “Clear vision, bright future,” aims to cover a total of 5,000 people within Phek district. Keyho stated that the camp primarily targets weavers and artisans to help them enhance their artistic pursuits and increase their earnings.

Following Phek town, the camp will move on to the Pfutsero and Chozuba areas in phases.

The president also acknowledged Sophy Lasuh and Nokho Nyekha for their logistical support in making the camp possible.

Meanwhile, Rumon Konwar from VisionSpring stated in his speech that the team would do its best to reach out to 5,000 people during the camp and urged the public to come forward and take advantage of the free check-up.

Kevesa Khamo, president of Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF), Chetezo Akami, deputy chairman of Phek Town Council (PTC), and other leaders from various organisations attended the inaugural programme.
