DIMAPUR — The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) has warned night clubs, bars and lounges in Dimapur, including restaurants that sell alcohol, not to employ underage boys and girls (below 18 years of age) for any form of services or tasks.

The Niki Sumi-led group claimed in a press release that minors are being exploited in the pretext giving employment.

It also warned night clubs, bars and lounges that sell alcohol not to entertain or allow the entry of any underage boys and girls, saying that such restricts are in place across the world, while such joints in Dimapur are thronged by minors.

“Such a trend is having (a) very bad influence over teenage boys and girls and are enticing them to indulge in activities which will not only destroy themselves but (also) the society at large,” read the press release.

The NSCN/GPRN said that it will take appropriate measures to curb such unethical activities.

“This warning comes into immediate effect and the NSCN/GPRN shall conduct strict and regular checking in the above mentioned places and severe action shall be initiated against the management/owner of the place found with underage customers.

“It is also to inform that any underage boys and girls found inside those places shall be released only with the intervention of the parents who will be made to sign a bond,” it stated.
