DIMAPUR — The deputy commissioner (DC) of Kohima has issued a travel advisory for commuters taking the Dimapur-Kohima road, in view of the massive landslide near Dzüdza bridge under Sechű Zubza.

The update informed that the segment of the National Highway-29 segment from chainage KM 163+980 to KM 164+030 (RHS) has been completely blocked by the landslide and may require days/week to restore the traffic.

In view of this, light vehicles travelling from Kohima to Dimapur have been advised to take alternate routes — Jotsoma-Khonoma-Mezoma-Sechüma-Sechü Zubza or Dzüdza Bridge-Mezo Basa-Sechüma-Sechü Zubza – while those (only light vehicles) travelling from Dimapur to Kohima have been asked to take Peducha Bridge-Tsiesema (10 Mile Road) route.

The DC also advised the commuters to plan their journey accordingly and extend full cooperation.

The advisory came just days after the DC order the closure of the same stretch from 11 am to 4 pm from August 16 to the 18th, to clear the debris at the landslide site.

Meanwhile, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) team led by Kohima DC Kumar Ramnikant, along with officials of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) and /S Brand Eagles inspected the landslide site at Dzüdza village on Saturday, updated DPRO Kohima.
