DIMAPUR — Consequent upon submission of report by inquiry committee to the collective leaders on the unfortunate incident of assault on August 2 in Zunheboto town, the NSCN/GPRN has, in accordance with the ‘Naga army acts and rules’ terminated all the cadres involved in the case from active national service with immediate effect on August 13.

A press release issued by NSCN through its MIP stated that it never ever gave any such sanction to the cadres in any given situation to harm any person or individual in any manner. While describing as inhuman and barbaric to assault a person in solitary, it condemned such act of barbarism by any person or persons in any capacity.

“We are deeply pained and equally hurt to see the infliction and we sincerely feel sorry to Mr. Dick and his family for causing mental and physical trauma. We know any amount of financial support will be less to help them recover from the pain the family is going through or the sweet words to relief them from their agony but as a Naga brother and as a people of same bloodline we have decided to bear all possible medical cost on his treatment,” the statement read.

It further prayed for his speedy recovery.

Basing on the committee report, it stated that Dick had abused its cadres by using all foul languages beyond tolerance while they were shopping in the market. He also threw punches in which one of the cadres was injured with a fractured lower jaw.

Being felt insulted, it stated that the cadres zeroed-in on Dick, who was latter picked up in the evening resulting in the unfortunate assault.

It further alleged that Dick is a butcher by profession and also actively involved in selling and disposing-off illegal liquor in Zunheboto town.
