Orientation on MPCDSR and RMNCAH+N held in Mon

DIMAPUR — A one-day district level orientation-cum-review meeting on Maternal Prenatal Child Death Surveillance and Response (MPCDSR) and Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child Adolescent Health and Nutrition (RMNCAH+N) was held at the conference hall of District Hospital, Mon, on Thursday.

Speaking at the meeting, the chief medical officer (CMO) of Mon, Dr. Supongmenla Walling, introduced herself and expressed hope to receive positive response by working as a team to achieve the set goals for the people of Mon.

Dr. Wungyong Konyak, DPO (RCH&UIP), highlighted the state and district’s main performance indicators in maternal and child health. He made a detailed presentation on each and every important indication, numerically outlining which and where to improve inside each block, stated an update from CMO.

He also noted that measles outbreak was recently recorded and the district has promptly deployed a rapid response team. He also urged the block in-charges to monitor and track the immunisation status of their local health units.

The Block Programme Manager (BPM) of Mon, Pongchai Konyak; BPM of Wakching, Shoiang Konyak; BPM of Phomching, Seyievicha; BPM of Tizit, Vitsielhoulie; and BPM of Aboi, Tinglak Konyak, presented their respective block performance on key indicators like fully/ complete immunised, ANC, institution deliveries, skilled birth attendant (SBA) home deliveries and OPD registration for the first quarter of the FY 2024-25.

H Mewang Konyak, school health coordinator, also highlighted on activities of RBSK, National Deworming Day and peer education (RKSK) especially stressing on weekly iron folic supplementation programme.

Report stated that in the open interaction session, discussions on low performing health units were taken up by DPO (RCH&UIP) and DPM.

The programme was chaired by BPM of Mon block, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Bonnie Konyak, DPM.

The meeting was attended by medical officers, community health officers, ANM and BPM of all the blocks.
