Opang Jamir releases new single Pungmang Naro
DIMAPUR – Naga musician Opang Jamir has released his latest single, ‘Pungmang Naro (Dream Girl),’ on his official YouTube channel ‘OpangJamir’.
An update issued on Monday informed that the song will be available for streaming on Spotify from August 19 onwards.
Known for his influential role as the frontman of the well-regarded Nagaland band ‘Avancer’ and his work as one half of the pop duo ‘The Twin Effect,’ Jamir has been carving out a niche for personal projects, showcasing his artistic evolution.
In his evocative new single ‘Pungmang Naro’, the artiste digs into the profound pain of love lost and the longing for a beloved who seems out of reach.
The song’s heartfelt lyrics convey a sense of deep sorrow and regret, capturing the emotional turbulence of a relationship that has drifted apart, the update informed.
Jamir reflects on the fleeting nature of love and the inevitability of heartbreak, using vivid imagery of tears and dreams to express his yearning.
The heartbreaking chorus, which repeatedly evokes the dream girl and their whirlwind romance, underscores the song’s central theme of enduring affection despite the passage of time and the impermanence of beauty. The song, produced by Vitz Zhimo, penned by Jongpongtemsu Longkumer and composed by Opang Jamir and Vitz Zhimo, is complemented by a visually striking music video crafted in collaboration with Overnight Nagaland (ONE).
