DIMAPUR — To mark the achievement of zero FIR pendency (zero case pendency) by completing investigation of all cases registered in the unit, a celebratory event was organised at the conference hall of the Superintendent of Police in Wokha town on Wednesday with IGP (Range), Limasunep, as the special guest.
Speaking at the event, Limasunep said dispensing 256 cases was a remarkable achievement and lauded the entire team led by the Superintendent of Police, Wokha, Aotula T Imchen, and all ranks and files of DEF Wokha.
Encouraging the officers to work with dedication and devotions, he urged them to continue with the good work in serving the people of the district. He added that the achievement has set a new benchmark for efficiency and responsiveness within the unit, stated a DIPR report.
To strengthen the justice delivery mechanism, Limasunep urged the officers to work in coordination with allied institutions like the district administration and judiciaries.
Emphasising on the new criminal laws, he appealed to the officers especially the officers in-charge (OC) and investigation officers (IO) to understand the laws and responsibilities and act accordingly in delivering justice fairly. He further reminded them to shoulder their responsibilities with outmost sincerity and continue working as a team to get more of such achievements in the days to come.
The ADC of Wokha, Furhesie Nyuwi, has termed the occasion as an encouragement and proud moment for Wokha Police and attributed the achievement to the diligence and efficiency of all the officers involved in delivering public service.

He further congratulated the SP and all ranks and files for achieving zero FIR pendency.
The district and session judge of Wokha, Nino Iralu, highlighted the various provisions of laws where police officers need to follow while handling cases in order to dispense justice fairly.
She informed that the state has come out with legal aid defence counsel system for poor victims who need legal assistance. She added that Wokha district has three defence counsels to assist the poorest of the poor and marginalised section of people. As the service could be availed through the Wokha district legal service authority (WDLA), she urged public to avail the service.
Presenting briefly about the zero FIR pendency, the Wokha Superintendent of Police, Aotula T Imchen, called upon the members to reflect on the responsibilities that came with the achievement.
“Zero case pendency is not the end of our journey; it is a new beginning. It is an ongoing challenge. It requires constant vigilance, innovation and commitment. We must continue to refine our processes, leverage technology and work collaboratively to ensure that we uphold the standards of justice and efficiency,” Imchen said.
She thanked the Nagaland DGP, senior officers, colleagues, various departments and stakeholders, which played vital role in achieving the milestone.
On the occasion some officers were awarded for rendering the remarkable service. They included ASI Zubemo (24 cases cleared), UBSI Mhonyamo (24 cases cleared), ASI Renathung (21 cases cleared), UBSI Thungchio (17 cases cleared), ASI Bichamo (13 cases cleared), UBSI Yanathung, in-charge of cyber cell unit, ASI Sothungo Murry and crime in-charge, ASI Suipeu Hegui.
The programme was chaired by SDPO of Wokha, Sangthing Khiam, while ASP of Wokha, K Soriso, delivered the welcome address and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by SDPO of Bhandari, Vekato Chishi.
