DIMAPUR — The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has updated that it had completed track renewal of 69.65 km from April to June 2024, with 26.38 km in June alone, registering 59.77% higher than the corresponding period last year.
The NFR stated that Through Sleeper Renewal (TSR) of 71.75TKM (track km) was done during the period, including 23.69 TKM in June, which is 135.63% higher than the corresponding period last year.
It went on to say that Through Turnout Renewal of 23 equivalent sets have been done in June, making a cumulative progress of 48.50 equivalent sets during the three-month period, which is 117.98% higher than the corresponding period.
“Thick Web Switches (TWS) of 17 have been installed in June, 2024, making cumulative progress of 49 from April to June 2024. This is 2350% higher than the corresponding period of the last year. Also, Deep Screening (plain track) 28.34 TKMs have been done during the month making a cumulative progress of 145.41TKM from April to June 2024. This is 156% higher than the corresponding period of the last year,” read the press release.
It went on to add that 1132.20 km of track has been tested by ultra sonic flaw detection (USFD) machine in June, making a cumulative progress of 5221.60 km from April to June.
