Nagaland legislator advocates for one family one project, one entrepreneur, one prayer
KOHIMA — Advisor for Civil Administrative Works Department (CAWD) and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo on Saturday stressed the need for self-sufficiency and self-reliance, saying that government facilities should act as an add-on to alleviate the living standards of the people.
Addressing the thanksgiving and dedication programme of Chozuba Town Council (CTC) at Vamuzo Memorial Town Hall Chozuba under Phek district, Khamo said the mentality of the people should change to see change in the society.
He advocated for one family one project, one family one entrepreneur, and one family one prayer time, in order to see a change.
The advisor insisted on the need to start generating income and attain self-reliance without delay, in order to build a vibrant society, pointing out the limited opportunity available in the government sector.
He told the newly elected councillors to respect the mandate of the people and work for their welfare. He went on to say that all the rank and files of the party should be responsible and accountable to the people in terms of developmental works, and should not solely dependent on the legislators or the councillors.
In this regard, he stressed the need to work as a team towards the party’s vision and commitment. He also encouraged the candidates who lost in the recent election not to lose heart but to remain committed and steadfast in serving the people.
Speaking at the event, the councillors acknowledged the mandate given to them and vowed to work for the welfare of the people. Chozuba Town Council Chairperson Sevonyi Keyho stressed the need for addressing water scarcity issue, assuring to make it a priority.
Earlier in the programme, a welcome address was delivered by Vevohu Epao, President NDPP 18th Chozuba AC.
The programme was led by Thepurkrayi Nienu, General Secretary, NDPP 18th Chozuba AC and invocation prayer was said by Sosuyi Khesoh, Senior Pastor, Rikhuba Baptist Church.
