DIMAPUR — A team of Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), Phek, has screened 760 students including 650 at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) and 110 at Government Middle School (GMS) in Pfutsero town on July 19.
Besides conducting comprehensive screenings, the team distributed necessary medicines, performed deciduous teeth extractions and provided referrals tailored to each student needs, stated an update from RBSK.
The team comprised of medical officer Dr. Avono Medoze, ANM Rukhevinuo, GNM Vekupolu and RBSK coordinator Kotshou.
It mentioned that RBSK is an initiative of National Health Mission (NHM) that provides comprehensive healthcare services to children from birth to 18 years. It focuses on early detection and management of 4 ‘D’ categories namely defects at birth, deficiencies, diseases and development delays including disabilities.
The programme aims to reduce child mortality and morbidity, improve nutrition levels and ensure holistic development.
Report also stated that the team visits schools and Anganwadi centres every month.
