NPP hosts thanksgiving programme, felicitates councillors
DIMAPUR — The National People’s Party (NPP), led by A Nyamnyei Konyak, MLA and state president, along with the state executives, NPP mahila wing, minority wing, and youth front, hosted a thanksgiving programme and felicitated the newly elected councillors of the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) and Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) on July 20 at Hotel Saramati in Dimapur.
According to a press release, Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhütso, MLA and working president of the NPP and Kohima urban local body (ULB) election in-charge, speaking on the occasion, shared the events of the ULB election campaign in Kohima and congratulated the three newly elected councillors.
He thanked all the supporters who believed in the ideology of the NPP and dedicated the win to the party workers who endured hardships and worked with dedication in both the KMC and DMC elections.
A speech was also delivered by Ane-u Khaming, a woman councillor of the KMC, on behalf of the newly elected KMC and DMC councillors. While thanking the Almighty for the guidance and victory, she said it was a proud moment for her personally.
She dedicated the win to the supporters and party workers who toiled hard for their victory. She also thanked the state president, working president, and state and district executives for their support and hard work.
She requested that the party continue supporting the councillors in executing the development of their wards in particular and the cities in general.
In his presidential speech, A Nyamnyei Konyak made a special mention of the NPP candidates who had contested the ULB elections unsuccessfully. He urged them to carry on serving the people despite the election loss.
He also thanked all the voters, supporters, and party workers for their support for the NPP candidates.
