DIMAPUR — The social concern committee of Mangkolemba Baptist Church Council (MBCC), Mokokchung district, in collaboration with the district administration, organised a seminar on social issues on the July 20 at town hall, Mangkolemba.
The event was aimed to address pressing concerns within the community and foster dialogue on ways to tackle them effectively, a DIPR report stated.
Maong Jamir, secretary of finance and property at ABAM, Impur, the resource person of the seminar, delved into the intricate dynamics of contemporary social issues, shedding light on the significant role that stakeholders play in addressing these challenges.
Throughout his presentation, Jamir emphasised the detrimental impact of alcoholism and drug abuse, which have not only contributed to financial instability but also resulted in the fragmentation of numerous families within the community. He urged all stakeholders present to collaborate and take collective action in combating these issues.
Overall, the seminar served as a vital platform for individuals and organisations to come together, exchange ideas, and commit to finding sustainable solutions for the betterment of the community.
