DIMAPUR — Modern College, Piphema, held its 5th graduation day on Thursday at its indoor stadium, with Dr. Hovithal N. Sothu, project director of the Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA), as the special guest for the event.
In his speech, Sothu encouraged the audience to be an asset to society and advised everyone to stand for professionalism and strive to be the best in everything they do, according to a press release.
He added that one should take the next step wisely, choose a path according to their dreams, fully commit to it, and prepare themselves to make sacrifices for their dream, as the world has become very competitive.
He advised them to be mentally prepared to face the world, noting that many new challenges would come. He encouraged the students to take risks, have a big heart, work hard, and make sacrifices to achieve success.
The event also included the presentation of certificates to the graduates. The programme concluded with a mass prayer.
In total, 74 students graduated this year, with one student being the university topper from the department of Education.
