KIPHIRE — The monthly Kiphire District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was at the DC’s conference hall, on Monday.
In the absence of the DPDB chairman, the meeting was chaired by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC).
The meeting discussed proposals for posting of junior engineers in the Power department and the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) for Seyochung town.
The department representatives informed that they had submitted the proposals to the state government but had yet to receive response. The meeting also reviewed the construction of road connectivity to GMS, PHED and Kiphire town.
The grant-in-aid for the classroom extension of El Beth High School in Kiphire was also discussed. The district education officer explained that they are working on the necessary requirements but facing challenges due to limited government funding, with multiple schools in the district competing for grant-in-aids.
The district agriculture officer and district horticulture officer also presented progress reports of their respective departments.
