Safai Apnao, Bimari Bhagao campaign launched in Tening
DIMAPUR — The Tening Town Council (TTC) launched the ‘Safai Apnao, Bimari Bhagao’ campaign in Tening town under Peren district on July 10.
Additional Deputy Commissioner and Administrator of TTC, T Lemlila Sangtam, in her keynote address, highlighted the pressing issues for proper waste management, stressing on minimising waste at household level so as to achieve a greener, cleaner and healthier town, a DIPR report stated.
The programme included action plan on cleanliness drive, mass awareness at ward level by Swachata captains and health camp for sanitation workers at CHC Tening. The launching programme was attended by elected councillors from the nine wards including the chairman of Tening Town Council, Swachata captains of the nine wards and TTC sanitation workers.
The Safai Apnao, Bimari Bhagao campaign is an initiative to prepare Tening Town Council during months of heavy rainfall (June – August) to prevent water-borne and vector-borne diseases, in alignment with the ‘Stop Diarrhoea Campaign.’
