DIMAPUR — North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR), Chümoukedima, hosted the NAAC peer team on July 5 and the 6th.
The peer team included chairman Prof. Dr. Vasant Shinde, member co-ordinator Prof. Dr. Jayant Sonwalkar and Dr. Nilesh Narayanrao Gawande, an update stated.
During the exit meeting, Prof. Dr. Vasant Shinde emphasised the importance of adhering to NAAC guidelines for the growth and development of the institute, noting their role in understanding and addressing various challenges.
Highlighting the significance of teamwork and social work in promoting welfare and rights, he encouraged the attendees to apply their knowledge for the institute’s prosperity.
Shinde also lauded NEISSR for initiating peace and conflict transformation studies specialisation and stressed the need for developing region-focused research projects.
Additionally, he commended the institute’s infrastructure, facilities, green campus, the students, alumni contributions, and the leadership of the principal and the team.
Extending best wishes for the institute’s future endeavours, the peer team chairman formally handed the NAAC confidential report to Dr. Fr. CP Anto, principal of NEISSR.
The exit meeting session commenced with an introduction of the peer team by Bokatoli Kinimi, assistant professor, NEISSR, followed by an invocation prayer led by Fr. Matthew Thunaimpral, governing board member of NEISSR.
Fr. GL Khing, vice principal of NEISSR, welcomed the gathering, while vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Toli H Kiba, IQAC coordinator and assistant professor, NEISSR.
A vibrant cultural programme showcasing the diverse cultures of North East India highlighted the first day of the visit. The event was attended by officials from Nagaland University, government officials, representatives from Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, NEISSR governing board members, alumni, parents, philanthropists and other stakeholders.
Meanwhile, NEISSR expressed gratitude to the Bishop, fathers, sisters and laity of the Kohima Diocese; Sacred Heart College Autonomous Tirupattur, Tamil Nadu; Marian College Kuttikkanam, Kerala, and Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram and Sacred Heart College Iringalakuda, Kerala, for their invaluable guidance towards NAAC preparation.
