DIMAPUR — The first phase of the social audit district-level public hearing under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) for Kohima and Tseminyu districts, covering Chiephobozou and Chunlikha blocks, was held on July 2 at the DPDB conference hall in Kohima.
Kevilhoubei-ii, project director and district programme coordinator of DRDA, Kohima, was the chairperson for the hearing, according to a DIPR report.
Speaking on the occasion, Imtitoshi I Jamir, director of Nagaland State Social Audit Agency (NSSAA), Social Audit Unit (SAU), Nagaland, provided an introduction to the audit and emphasised that the implementation of the scheme should ensure transparency and accountability.
The findings of the social audit were presented by Imsusenla Longchar, DRP, and Keneiseii Sopfii, BRP, both of NSSAA, SAU, Nagaland.
It mentioned that twenty-five villages from these two blocks were audited and the programme concluded with the reading of village-wise gram sabha resolutions and a vote of thanks by the chairperson.
