DIMAPUR — Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has initiated digital booking and DAC (Delivery Authentication Code) based confirmation of domestic LPG refill to expand the digital movement initiated by the Government of India.

An update from Food and Civil Supplies department stated that the system was initiated to ensure that gas cylinders are delivered to genuine customers.

For booking LPG cylinder, consumers are asked to give a miss call at 8454955555 from registered mobile number, while for SMS booking, consumers are asked to type ‘refill’ and send to 7718955555 from registered mobile number.

For IVRS booking, consumers are asked to call at 7718955555 from registered mobile number, while for WhatsApp booking, consumers are asked to type ‘refill’ and send to 7588888824 from registered mobile number.

It stated that IOC has initiated the facility of DAC-based refill delivery confirmation to arrest diversion of LPG cylinders during delivery process.

It mentioned that manual mode of booking has been discouraged and digital modes of booking are promoted. Digital booking is a hassle-free and convenient way of ordering LPG refills without having to visit the distributor’s office or make phone calls.

It stated that digital booking is a customer centric service and ensures complete transparency in the LPG refill delivery process simultaneously. It helps in maintaining strict vigil and control over the entire refill delivery process. It also helps the distributors to follow first-in-first-out in clearing out the pending bookings. Most importantly, helps in ensuring cylinders are delivered to genuine customers and thus curbs diversion of domestic cylinders, it added.
