Mudslide in Kohima partially disrupts water supply

DIMAPUR — The urban division of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) has reported that a mudslide near the NST Garage at Lerie Chazou in Kohima has disrupted the local water mains, causing interruptions in water supply services for the area.

Temporary restoration efforts have been largely ineffective, according to a DIPR report, which mentioned that full restoration will be done in collaboration with relevant line departments.

“The department is working to resolve the situation and restore water services as soon as possible,” it maintained.

The department has also appealed to residents to bear with the inconvenience and continue cooperating, assuring them that efforts are underway to ensure the resumption of reliable water supply services to all consumers.
