DIMAPUR — The state-level Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) held its half-yearly review meeting on Monday at the conference hall of the Director General of Police (DGP), PHQ Kohima, as part of the ongoing ‘War against drugs’ under the leadership of the DGP.

The meeting was attended by Sandeep M Tamgadge, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) (Law and Order) and state head of ANTF, along with Inspector General of Police (CID) Vikram M Khalate, who serves as the investigation head of ANTF, along with other senior officers from PHQ, district police chiefs, and district-level ANTF nodal officers, according to a press release.

During the meeting, discussions were held on the total number of activities carried out for Narcotic Coordination Centre (NCORD) at the district level, the number of meetings conducted (NCORD and ANTF), and data uploaded on the National Integrated Database on Arrested Narco-offenders (NIDAN) portal.

Fingerprints uploaded on the National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS) portal, the number of cases registered, vehicles confiscated, persons arrested, and the total amount of illegal drugs and contraband seized over the last six months, were also reviewed.

Tamgadge briefed about the structure and function of NCORD and ANTF in the state on the occasion. He acknowledged the positive reports from all district chiefs and encouraged them to conduct NCORD and ANTF meetings regularly.

Also, he reminded the district chiefs to organise awareness programmes, events, or campaigns related to drugs and psychotropic substances.
