Karbi actor gets role of a villain in upcoming Bollywood film
DIPHU — Crosswell Timung, an emerging Karbi film actor from the hill district of Karbi Anglong, Assam, will be seen in the upcoming Bollywood movie ‘Bihu Attack,’ a film by PKS production house.
Dev Menaria and Daisy Shah are playing as the lead actors in the movie. Bollywood renowned actors like Raza Murad, Arbaaz Khan, Rahul Dev, Yukti Kapoor, Mir Sarwar, are working in this film and Suzad Igbal Khan as Director and Prabir Kanta Saha as Producer.
In the movie, a terrorist attacks is carried out during the Bihu festival, one of the biggest festival of Assam, with involvement of countries like China and Burma; and highlights about illegal activities.
‘Bihu Attack’ was shot in various locations of Assam, including Karbi Anglong’s Langchitung under the Singhason MAC Constituency.
In the film, Timung will be seen in the negative role as an extremist leader of Burma.
Speaking with Eastern Mirror, Timung informed that he was selected after an audition which was conducted by the production house.
‘I thank God for being part of the project’, said Timung who given the role within a week of selection.
Timung, who began his film career in 2008, is popularly seen in villain roles.
‘To promote more film industry in the region especially to the Northeast, popular films production of the Bollywood have now started eying our place, now we have to co-operate whenever films production approaches our place for shooting,’ shared the Karbi actor.
‘Language acts as a barrier, but with effort, perseverance, practice and discipline everything works’, added Timung.
He also received the best actor award at the Rangsina Sarpo Film Award organised by the Art and Cultural Department.
Besides, Timung along with his son, Athir Timung, is also working in one a Manipuri (Meitei) film. As the project is still ongoing, Timung added that due to the ethnic conflict in Manipur, the project has been suspended, but 70 percent of the film is completed.
