TGC Naga Market offers platform for growth and amusement
KOHIMA — The Green Caravan (TGC) Naga Market, a local chain market in the state capital, is designed to provide employment opportunities for students and local vendors, while creating a lively space for both young and old to enjoy.
The market, located on PWD road in the city, is a platform where the community can come together to experience good times and support local entrepreneurs.
The market also offers part-time employment opportunities for youth by allowing them to earn a living while pursuing their studies, providing a practical solution for students to balance education and work.
The market operates with a structured schedule to accommodate various groups. It will be opened to Naga farmers for selling their products from 4 am to 7 am, while it is reserved for registered TGC farmers from 9 am to 4 pm.
Every second Friday will be set aside for sales day on the theme “Flower Bazaar,” organised by the Nagaland Flowers Grower Society, while the market would be allocated for government farmers on Tuesday and Wednesday (2nd, 3rd and 4th week).
Eight food courts will be available, offering a variety of food items including locally produced juices and dishes prepared by Naga youth at the marketplace.
Students and youth will manage night food court at the venue from 4 pm to 10 pm.
The market also serves as a one-stop solution for local entrepreneurs, providing a space where they can display and sell their products.
The market team also informed that to foster community spirit and support local talent, they would host events such as live gigs. For this, every second Saturday, local artistes will perform, offering them a platform to showcase their talents.
