Over 2 lakh unorganised workers in Nagaland register on e-Shram
DIMAPUR — Nagaland has a total of 2,24,635 unorganised workers registered on the e-Shram portal. The highest number of workers registered are from the agriculture and construction sectors.
According to the data, around 58.70 per cent of these registered workers are in the age group of 18-40 years, 24.41 per cent are in the age group of 40-50 years, and 16.84 per cent are above 50 years.
Out of the total unorganised workers from Nagaland registered on the e-Shram portal, around 57.90 per cent are women and 42.09 per cent are men.
Registrations from the agriculture sector total 136,797, followed by the construction sector with 28,950 registrations, miscellaneous occupations with 11,077 registrations, and domestic and household workers with 8,080 registrations.
Sectors such as handicrafts and carpets have 6,932 registrations, automobiles and transportation have 6,402 registrations, the education sector has 5,393 registrations, the apparel sector has 5,265 registrations, retail has 3,142 registrations, capital goods and manufacturing have 2,417 registrations, and healthcare has 1,993 registrations, among others.
According to the Ministry of Labour and Employment dashboard, the top three states in the country with the highest number of registrations are Uttar Pradesh with a total of 8,35,80,473, followed by Bihar with 2,91,91,445, and West Bengal with 2,63,01,554.
