Dimapur conducts training for polling officials

DIMAPUR — In view of the upcoming urban local body elections, the Dimapur district administration conducted the first phase of training for polling personnel, including presiding officers, polling officers 1 and 2, and grade IV staff, at Dimapur Government College on Saturday. A total of 803 polling personnel attended the training session. Meanwhile, it informed that the second phase of training would be held on June 19.

ADC Pfutsero informs polling personnel

DIMAPUR — The returning officer (RO) of Pfutsero Town Council (PTC), Moakumzuk Tsudir, informed that training for ULB counting personnel, including counting supervisors, counting assistants and tabulators, would be held on June 21 at the conference hall of the ADC office in Pfutsero town at 12 pm. He has requested all the counting personnel drafted for the duty to attend the training. He also cautioned that any person found absent or abstaining from the training would be strictly dealt with as per the provisions of the law. In another statement, the officer informed that the 2nd phase of training for all categories of polling personnel, including the presiding officer, polling officer-1, and polling officer-2, would be held on June 21 at the conference hall of the ADC’s office at 10.30 am.

NFMP Kiphire conducts training on floriculture

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP) under Kiphire Forest Division organised a training programme on floriculture for self-help groups (SHG) of the Joint Forest Management Committee (JFMC) at Azetso (batch-III village). The training was conducted in collaboration with the department of Horticulture, Kiphire. The programme was led by Janai Zeme, FNGO team leader, while the resource persons were Senti Longkumer, district horticulture officer, and Seroba Sangtam, horticulture extension assistant. The programme concluded with the distribution of gardening kits like agronets, shovels, organic plant nutrients and pruning secateurs.

NMPA mourns demise of its founding member

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Master Printers Association (NMPA) mourned the demise of its founding member, Veprechü Nuh, on June 14 in Dimapur after a prolonged illness. In a condolence message, the association stated that Nuh, proprietor of ‘Vision Press’ located on Mission Road in Kohima, associated himself with NMPA’s activities until his demise. Describing him as a thorough gentleman, hard working and someone who would always be available for whoever needed his help and service, it said that the printing fraternity of Nagaland has lost one of its strongest pillars. The NMPA conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul rest in eternal peace.

Z Royim-led NNC (PB) appoints new leaders

DIMAPUR — The Z Royim-led NNC (PB) has appointed Lieutenant General R Keoshu as Commander-in-Chief and Lieutenant General M Throngso as Military Supervisor on June 13 during the annual assembly meeting held in Shamator town. The meeting comprised the council of kilonsers, army wings, civil setup, regional authorities, tatars, etc. According to an update, the newly appointed officials have been instructed to assume their duties immediately. All officials and members of the political secretariat and Naga Army have been asked to take note of this change and cooperate with the newly appointed officials.

Kohima-Imphal NST bus service resumes on June 19

DIMAPUR — The assistant general manager of Nagaland State Transport (NST) has announced that the Kohima-Imphal NST bus service will resume on June 19. According to an update, tickets will be available at the Kohima NST booking counter, located at the NST Office, below the multi-level parking. The service will operate from Kohima on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, departing at 7:30 am.

KDSA calls Kohima open shooting winners for briefing

DIMAPUR — The Kohima District Shooting Association (KDSA) has informed all winners of the recently concluded Kohima Open Shooting Competition 2024 to report at GMS ‘D’ Khel, Seikhazou, at 3:00 pm for a briefing regarding the upcoming pre-state shooting championship scheduled from June 22 to the 25th in Dimapur. Participants are required to bring one passport photo and their birth certificate without fail. Additionally, any other shooters interested in participating in the upcoming competition should contact KDSA for further details.
