Common platform held in Chozuba town ahead of ULB election
DIMAPUR — The Senior Citizen Forum, Chozuba Town Youth Association, Chozuba Town Chakhesang Students’ Union, and Chozuba Town Women Welfare Society collaborated to organise a common platform with respect to the ULB elections in Chozuba Town on Wednesday.
A total of 29 candidates from nine wards under the Chozuba Town Council have filed their nominations for the upcoming ULB poll scheduled for June 26.
According to a press release, all intending candidates addressed the gathering during the event, sharing their visions and plans for the town’s welfare if elected.
Short speeches were also delivered by the head GB of Chozuba town, the chairman of the Senior Citizens Forum, and members of the Chakhesang Clean Election Movement.
At the end of the programme, resolutions were adopted that stated that camping, feasting, or any gatherings that may disturb the harmonious living of the town are not allowed.
Furthermore, the organisations fully authorised the women society and youth association to monitor against any possible bribery or use of intoxicating materials. Candidates who fail to abide by the resolutions will not be allowed to contest, it stated.
