DIMAPUR — A maternal child health (MCH)-cum-sterilisation camp was organised by the District Health Society, Department of Health and Family Welfare at Ralan Primary Health Centre (PHC), Wokha district, on Saturday.
Dr. Zubenthung Kikon, chief medical officer of Wokha, said that the outreach camp was organised with the aim to provide free health services and family planning services for beneficiaries in Ralan area, stated an update from CMO office, Wokha.
Dr. Kikon extended his gratitude to the Medical directorate, Eleutheros Christian Society, district administration, gynecologist, eye specialist and village councils of Ralan area for their support in conducting the outreach camp.

Some of the health services provided were blood pressure screening, ENT, immunisation, dental, blood sugar test, general medical checkup, generation of Chief Minister’s Health Insurance card etc. The beneficiaries were also provided with free medicines and IEC leaflets on family planning, maternal and child health.
During the sterilisation camp, tubectomy was performed on more than 14 beneficiaries from Ralan and Bhandari areas by Dr. Yanrenthung Jami, senior medical officer (Obs. and Gynae.) at District Hospital Dimapur.
The tubectomy beneficiaries, who were mostly from economically weak section, expressed their gratitude to the medical department for organising the sterilisation camp.
The outreach camp was held with the support of CMO staff, medical officers and staffs from various vertical programmes such mobile medical unit, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram, ASHAs, medical staffs of Ralan PHC, Tongtongo and Liphayan Health and Wellness Centres.
More than 230 beneficiaries availed the free health services during the MCH-cum-sterilisation camp.
