Hygiene ratings, audits of eateries conducted in three districts
DIMAPUR — Food Safety Mokokchung Zone, in collaboration with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI)-empanelled agency MS Certification Services Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata, carried out various activities.
According to the update, the initiatives encompassed hygiene rating and high-risk audits of eateries and food manufacturing units and the implementation of the Eat Right School, Eat Right Campus, Eat Right Place of Worship, and Eat Right Vegetable Market programmes across Mokokchung, Tuensang, and Zunheboto districts from May 21 to the 29th.
It stated that these initiatives will enable consumers to make informed choices regarding the outlets they select for dining while also encouraging food businesses to display and enhance their food hygiene standards, as mentioned.
C Merenlemba Ao, designated officer (Food Safety) of Mokokchung Zone, stated that the hygiene rating certificate remains valid for two years, with establishments undergoing a re-audit every two years.
He urged food business operators (FBOs) to persist in maintaining standards and to establish their unique identity as responsible food business establishments.
