DIMAPUR — Longleng district observed World Menstrual Hygiene Day with girl students of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Awasiya Vidyalaya Residential Hostel, Longleng, on Tuesday.
The day was observed on the theme ‘Together for a period friendly world’ with an aim is to create awareness on the key adolescent health issues, which in turn will instill positive behaviour in the adolescent, stated an update from CMO office.
Dr. Suyimzenla, MO RBSK, gave an orientation on menstrual hygiene and cautioned the girl students against the use of unscientific and unhygienic materials during their menstrual cycle.
Awareness on the importance of menstruation, menstrual hygiene and use of proper disposal of sanitary products were also highlighted, followed by the distribution of sanitary pads.
