Man found unconscious in Dimapur, later pronounced dead
DIMAPUR — Dimapur Police recovered an unconscious, unidentified non-Naga male found lying at NST bus station, Dimapur, on May 24, who, later on the same day, passed away at District Hospital Dimapur.
According to a press release, around 3:30 pm, East Police Station received telephonic information about the man lying unconscious and upon reaching the site, the police personnel found the person to be aged around 20–25 years.
He was immediately taken to District Hospital Dimapur for medical care. However, at around 4:03 pm, he was pronounced dead by the medical officer. An inquest was conducted over the dead body, which was witnessed by an independent witness.
The deceased was suspected to be a homeless beggar, and the cause of death was thought to be starvation. After completing all legal formalities, the body was transferred to the hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination and identification.
He was wearing a black t-shirt, black jeans, and brown flip-flops. Claimants, relatives, or friends of the deceased have been requested to contact the officer-in-charge at East Police Station, Dimapur, on 7085055020.
