DIMAPUR — The Zhadima Students’ Union (ZSU) on Saturday felicitated the meritorious students of the HSLC and HSSLC at the Zhadima community hall with Neisakuo Theünuo, agriculture officer, as the speaker.

In his address, Theünuo congratulated the students on their achievements and encouraged them to embrace future challenges as they embark on new academic and professional journeys. He highlighted the importance of being open to various career paths in today’s rapidly changing world.

He also stressed the need to develop diverse skills in the fast changing world and urged the students to actively seek opportunities for skill development.

Besides, he emphasised on the village’s agricultural potential and advocated learning about drought-resistant crops and incorporating agricultural practices into their pursuits.

Sedevilie Theünuo, who secured the fourth rank in the recently declared NPSC combined technical service examination, also addressed the gathering. He shared insights on the importance of hard work, focus and setting priorities. He encouraged students to surround themselves with like-minded individuals and stressed that diligence and perseverance have no substitutes.

The event featured blessings from pastors, reverends, and catechists from various churches.

In another programme, the Kohima unit of All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) on Saturday organised a felicitation programme for toppers and 1st division holders of the taxi drivers’ children at ISBT complex in Kohima.

A total of 36 successful students including Swedesünü Sothu, daughter of Lorhesül Sothu who secured Top 17 in the HSLC exam, were felicitated during the programme. A sum of INR 10,000 with certificate was presented to the topper and INR 5000 to all the 1st division holders.

The president of Angami Students’ Union (ASU), Khriesamhalie David Mere, who was the special guest, congratulated the successful candidates and encouraged them to be careful in choosing their career. He appealed to the successful candidates to have passion and perseverance and to not let failure stop them from pursuing their career.

He also urged them to appreciate the prayer and support from the family, which played a big role in their success. He further acknowledged the families and parents of all the successful candidates for their hard work and support in their children’s success.

The ANTA president, Dziesevituo Solo, highlighted that education is wealth that cannot be stolen. Describing the successful candidates as the future of Nagas, he encouraged them to work harder than before.

He further lauded the parents for working hard in ensuring success of their children, while he also appreciated the students for bringing pride to the association.
