SCC marks International Museum Day with catalogue launch
DIMAPUR — The internal quality assurance cell (IQAC) at Sao Chang College (SCC) observed International Museum Day on Saturday by unveiling a tribal museum catalogue titled “Connecting with Local Communities” at its premises in Tuensang.
According to a press release, during the launch of the catalogue, Longtichang Tzudir, the vice principal of the college, spoke briefly on the theme of International Museum Day, “Sustainability and well-being,” focusing on how museums contribute to the sustainable development of communities and the well-being of individuals.
He lauded the department of History for their efforts in spearheading the initiative to compile the artefacts dedicated to enhancing communication between museums and local communities.
The release also mentioned that the catalogue will serve as a resource for the museum, providing practical tools and inspiration to enhance community engagement efforts.
The programme was attended by faculty from the History department and members of the IQAC.
