First inter-school cricket tournament in Kiphire concludes

DIMAPUR — The inter-school cricket tournament, which began on May 6 and organised by the Kiphire District Cricket Association under the aegis of the Nagaland Cricket Association, concluded on May 8 at Public Ground, Kiphire.

According to an update, Tsaliba Sangtam, Junior Engineer, Power department, Kiphire, attended the closing ceremony as the special guest.

In his speech, he congratulated the champion school and appealed to the school authorities to encourage their students to participate in such events. He emphasised that cricket, with its rules, teaches the utmost discipline, shaping young minds to be disciplined in all aspects.

He appealed for more schools to join in the next edition and lauded the Kiphire District Cricket Association for organising and successfully completing the school tournament.

During the final match between Agape Higher Secondary School and Saramati High School, Agape School struggled against the attack of their opponents. They were all out in a mere 6.5 overs, scoring only 38 runs. Consequently, Saramati High School secured an easy victory by 5 wickets in just 5.1 overs.

The Kiphire District Cricket Association conveyed its deep gratitude to school authorities, well-wishers, match officials, and the guests of the inaugural and closing ceremonies for their contributions to the success of the tournament.
