Nagaland Police arrests 37 persons in March
DIMAPUR — Continuing with its statewide operation to combat menace of drugs and other substances, Nagaland Police arrested a total of 37 persons and registered 28 cases within the period from March 16 to the 31st.
An update from Nagaland Police stated that the statewide operation in all the districts of Nagaland was conducted in order to combat the menace of widespread availability and usage of synthetic drugs and psychotropic substances and IMFL (Indian Made Foreign Liquor). It stated that intensive checking of vehicles (MVCP), raids and checking of hotels, restaurants and others were carried out to control such illegal activities.
During the period, a total of nine cases of narcotics and psychotropic substances were registered and arrested 12 persons. The police recovered 548 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon and other tables, 1478 gram of brown sugar, 25.75 gram of heroine, and 22 kg of ganja, the update state.
Besides, 18 cases of IMFL were registered and arrested 22 persons, while it also recovered 2,943 litre of liquors. One case on arms and ammunitions was registered and arrested three persons arrested and recovered one pistol.
Meanwhile, Nagaland Police appealed to the public to provide information of sale or distribution of any form of narcotic drugs/ IMFL and others to the nearest police station or narcotic police station or “call your cop” mobile app or the Madeinnagaland platform. They assured that the identity of the informant would be kept confidential.
