DIMAPUR — A social activist, in an open letter to the Chief Minister of Nagaland, sought his urgent intervention to resolve the alleged issue of the non-issuance of PIMS codes to teachers recently recruited through the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) examinations.

In the letter dated March 26, Bendang Imsong from Mokokchung highlighted the plight of the newly appointed teachers who received their posting orders in late November 2023 but have not been assigned PIMS codes till date.

Without these codes, the teachers are unable to receive their salaries, leading to financial hardships and an inability to sustain themselves and their families, he mentioned in the letter.

The activist stated that the delay in issuing PIMS codes has also created administrative hurdles and confusion regarding the teachers’ employment status and access to government benefits.

Imsong urged the CM to expedite the process of generating PIMS codes for these teachers, stating that swift action would not only alleviate their financial struggles but also restore their faith in the system and enable them to perform their duties effectively.
