Dr. Chumben Murry files nomination for Lok Sabha election
KOHIMA — Dr. Chumben Murry, the consensus candidate of the NDPP-BJP led Peoples’ Democratic Alliance (PDA) in the ensuing Lok Sabha election for the state’s lone seat, on Tuesday, filed his nomination at the office of the Returning Officer (RO), Commissioner’s office in Kohima.
Dr. Murry was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton; Advisor Hekani Jakhalu Kense; Advisor Tongpang Ozukum; Y Mhombemo, MLA, from the NCP party, president of NCP state unit Vanthungo Odyuo, and a host of other party officials from the alliance ruling government.
Speaking to media persons, he expressed optimism that he would emerge victorious through the support of all the 60 MLA of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, with absolute majority.
When enquired about his visions if elected to represent the state in the Lok Sabha, he said there are so many issues facing the state that he will have to take up, in particular the Naga political Issue.
Further, he hoped the election would be a friendly contest among the three candidates.
