DIMAPUR — The Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) condemned the incident in which a girl was stabbed multiple times by one Abdul Mujid in broad daylight inside a shop in Dimapur on March 22.
In a condemnation note, the DDCF stated that such acts of violence were previously unheard of, and that it demonstrates the audacity of criminal minds to commit such acts right here in the heart of the city.
“Such criminal activities have no place in our society and must be condemned and contained,” the note read, adding that the concerned authorities should thoroughly investigate the case, book the culprit as per the law and ensure that the law prevails and no criminal can go scot-free after committing any crime in the city.
The forum maintained that there should be no bail, and stringent punishment as per the existing law of the land must be awarded to the culprit.
The forum appealed to all citizens to be more aware of their surroundings, to be more vigilant, and urged business owners to ensure that CCTVs are operational. It also encouraged reporting any suspicious activity to the concerned authorities.
