DIMAPUR — The All Nagaland Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) employees under Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) on Tuesday submitted a representation to the principal director of Health and Family Welfare department to release the pending salaries at the earliest, failing which it threatened to take its own course of action by way of launching an agitation.

The ANM employees under CSS expressed deep concern over non-payment of salaries to its members for months, despite repeated appeals to the department. It claimed that ANM employees under CSS in the districts of Tuensang, Mon, Longleng, Kohima, Mokokchung, Tseminyu, Wokha, Kiphire, Zunheboto, and Phek (3 blocks) have not been paid, unlike their counterparts, particularly in Peren district, who are receiving their salaries on a regular basis and have been paid till February 2024.

Alleging discrimination in payment of salaries, the coordinators of All Nagaland ANM under CSS implored the concerned authority to treat everyone equally. It added that such unfairness in releasing salaries has been highlighted on several occasions, but to no avail.

The release stated that the lackadaisical attitude of the authority towards their plight in releasing the pending salaries is causing immense hardship to the members.

While urging the concerned department to treat all the members equally, the aggrieved employees requested that the department release the pending salaries at the earliest.
