DIMAPUR — The Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) organised a coordination meeting with its former presidents and advisors on March 2 at Phezucha Block, Kohima. The purpose of the meeting was to introduce the new team to the advisors and former CYF presidents.

According to a press release, CYF president Kevesa Khamo stated on the occasion that the CYF resolved to continue upholding the Chakhesang Public Organisation’s standing resolutions, which include the prohibition of indiscriminate jungle burning, the collection and extraction of medicines for commercial purposes, hunting, illegal fishing, imported pigs in Chakhesang jurisdiction, and biodiversity conservation to address climate action, among other activities.

The resolutions have been notified to all the CYF-affiliated units to strictly enforce them in their respective jurisdictions in partnership.

Former president Kekhwengulo Lea spoke on the occasion about the history of CYF, stating that it was founded in 1995 with the motto “Youth for the nation” and has continued to safeguard and protect common interests, integrity, and fraternity, fostering unity and peaceful coexistence within the community and beyond.

The former presidents shared their experiences, while advisors encouraged the current team to continue uplifting the youth and promoting community interests. They emphasised addressing challenges with practical solutions in areas such as biodiversity, entrepreneurship, and beyond through collective action in all spheres.

The CYF advisors for FY 2024–2026 include Vezhoduyi Nakro, Dr. Zokho Venuh, Veswupoi Theyo, Vekhozo Ringa, and Nyitso Therie.
