DIMAPUR — Minister for Public Works Department (Roads and Bridges), G Kaito Aye, has expressed condolences on the demise of Nagaland State Selection Board (NSSB) member Ghukhuyi Zhimomi, who passed away on February 29 after a brief illness in New Delhi.

In a note, the minister said that Zhimomi was not just a significant figure in his life, but he was also an invaluable pillar of support in his political journey, from his younger days to the present moment.

He noted that, as a former government official who served under the Department of Water Resources, Zhimomi’s contributions were instrumental in shaping the development landscape of the state.

“His expertise, passion, and tireless efforts have left an indelible mark, impacting the lives of countless individuals,” he said, adding that until his last breath, he continued to serve diligently as a member of the NSSB. Aye called his demise not just a personal tragedy but a collective loss for the Sumi community and the entire state of Nagaland.

“I, on behalf of the people of Satakha, offer our support and prayers to the bereaved family, friends, and loved ones during this time of profound grief and mourning. May you find solace in the cherished memories that you hold dear and may the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” it read.
