DAPCU creates awareness on interpersonal communication
DIMAPUR — A one-day awareness programme on interpersonal communication was held on Thursday at Singrijan village.
According to an update, the event was organised by the District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU), Dimapur, supported by the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) Kohima, in collaboration with the Gorkha Students’ Union Chümoukedima District (GSUCD), with an objective of empowering students, who will then educate their own people at the unit level about HIV and AIDS.
The sessions covered various topics, including the basics of HIV/AIDS, stigma and discrimination, myths and misconceptions, basic services available under government hospitals and NGO set-up, as well as interpersonal communication and communication skills.
The programme was chaired by Ajay Thapa, general secretary of GSUCD, while the welcome note was delivered by Jacob Sundas, president. The vote of thanks was given by Sancho Maya Gurung, joint education and statistical secretary of GSUCD.
