DIMAPUR — The Wokha District Task Force for Immunisation and the Urban Task Force for Immunisation held a consultative meeting to discuss how the district will carry out the pulse polio immunisation programme for National Immunisation Day, which is scheduled to take place from March 3rd to 5th.

During the meeting, district programme officer (universal immunisation programme/reproductive and child health) Dr. Thungchanbeni Patton highlighted the activities planned for the three-day programme. She informed that children aged 0–5 years would receive oral polio drops at various polio booths and designated areas, according to a report by DIPR.

On the first day, March 3, polio drops will be administered at booth areas established in various locations across the entire district. On March 4 and 5, house-to-house activities will be conducted to ensure that every child receives the vaccination.

Dr. Patton also stated that a total of 10,890 beneficiaries (0-5 years old) will be vaccinated, covering 20,393 households, and that 193 vaccination booths will be set up during the three-day programme.

The meeting was chaired by SDO (C) Wokha, Nuhuta Tunyi, who urged all members to mobilise and raise awareness about the importance of immunisation. He also urged all Colony Council chairmen to inform and mobilise their respective colonies to ensure that all children aged 0 to 5 receive the vaccine during the campaign.
